Biography
Jillian Wiley, soprano, has been hailed as a “powerhouse soprano” by Victorian Lyric Opera, and “the standout singer…with beautifully sung arias..” by the Maryland Theater Guide. She has been performing for audiences in the DMV since 2013.
Jillian completed her BA in Vocal Performance at Shepherd University, and her MM in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at the Peabody Institute. In the summers of 2012 and 2013, she participated in the Manhattan School of Music’s Summer Voice Festival where she studied with renowned tenor, Neil Rosenshein.
Past concert experience include soloist with Hagerstown Choral Arts, The Frederick Children’s Chorus, and the Frederick Chorale. Her opera roles include Sandman in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel, Nurse Lola in Douglas Moore’s The Gallantry, Girl 2 in Errolyn Wallen’s ANON, as well as covers for Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel, and Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide. This season, Jillian will make her company debut with Victorian Lyric Opera as Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore and Constance in The Sorcerer.
Jillian is a passionate and emotionally driven performer and she strives to instill those values in her students at the International School of Music. She currently studies with Jennifer Casey-Cabot.
